The 'parade of the flame' - the flame comes down the river with the boat parade and is then marched with sailors, sea scouts, sea cadets and boaters to the batallier's monument where it is left to burn overnight. |

The Police boat 'P-83' took the catholic priest around all the boats in turn, with a simple blessing and a sprinkle of water. The priest thanked us for our presence and friendship (in English). Even though we are not catholic (or even religious), the sentiments were spoken sincerely. We enjoyed the whole event and decided we would come again. |
